It was an absolutely amazing weekend and, for Monopoly Events, one of our most important milestones. *For The Love of Fantasy* wasn't just another event; it marked Monopoly Events' very first expansion into the European Union—a major challenge.
Every country has its own mindset, fan communities, and often its own established events. Bringing the Monopoly Events format, experience, and know-how to the Czech Republic wasn't as simple as it might have seemed at first glance.
We had to ask ourselves a lot of questions. Would we find the right target audience? Would there be interest in the event? Would our format work in the Czech Republic? Could we create an event that fans would truly fall in love with?
We faced the task of training a new team, building local infrastructure, and—above all—adapting the entire format to the Czech environment.
And the result?
We pulled it off! And even exceeded our own expectations.
We couldn't have asked for a better inaugural year. Of course, we know that many of our decisions, activities, and organizational choices could have been handled differently—perhaps even better. Some steps could be changed, improved, and taken a step further. But that’s exactly what future editions are for.
And we already know we’ll be fine-tuning them together down to the very last detail.
For us, *For The Love of Fantasy* wasn't just a single weekend in Prague. It was Monopoly Events' first step into the European Union and the beginning of something much bigger.
